We are Diane and John Longley and we live near Doncaster, South Yorkshire with our 2 children, Antony and Lydia.
We have always had a home filled with animals of one kind or another including goats (out side of course!!) but there has always been at least one cat. Sadly 3 years ago we lost our last moggie to old age and even though we had 2 dogs the house felt like it had something missing. A friend suggested we looked at having another cat, a Maine Coon, one look and we were smitten.
2 months later we were bringing home our first Maine coon, Elmcoon Florence and to Helen and Brenda we will be for ever grateful, of course Florence was just the beginning, be warned Maine Coons are addictive !!!
We now have 7 Maine Coons a Birman, 2 non pedigree cats and 3 dogs, Bob, Max and Gemma. All our cats live in doors and have free run of the house, they also have an out door pen which they get into by using the kitchen door which is fantastic during the summer months when the kitchen door is permanently open but in the winter I spend half my day letting the cats out and the other half letting them back in again !!
We show all of our cats including Gypsy and Louie our non pedigrees, we try to show once a month and would like to show more but young children and John's work commitment makes it hard to do more.We show at GCCF and FIFe shows.
Our first breeding girl was Chesara Honkeytonk Angel ( Angel )and in November 2007 we became the very proud owners of 6 beautiful kittens thanks to Angel and CH Zydeco Robert Redfurred. Angel decided her kittens were to be born in our kitchen and then we moved her and kittens to our bedroom where they stayed until they were old enough to wonder down stairs and join the other cats and dogs and hustle and bustle of family life.
Our aim is to breed good quality kittens with good temperaments and that are healthy and happy.
